James is a 17-year-old rising senior at The Lawrenceville School in New Jersey. He founded CNJGYC as a junior due to his desire to increase youth political participation and his belief that teens can genuinely create effective policies for the state and the nation at large. When not fighting for the establishment of a Gubernatorial Youth Council, James enjoys editing his school newspaper, attempting speeches at Model UN conferences, and eating ice cream.

Gubernatorial Coordinator: Vicki Xie

Vicki is a senior at Hopewell Valley Central High School in Pennington, New Jersey. Previously, she’s worked on the Campaign for a Presidential Youth Council as the New Jersey’s District 4 Director. Vicki strongly believes in youth civic engagement and in creating more opportunities for teens to enact change. In her free time, Vicki likes playing with dogs, eating chocolate, and being involved in her community.

Mayoral Coordinator: Neha Lund

Neha Lund is a senior at Manalapan High School who is passionate about politics, feminism, education, and leadership. She plans to double major in Economics and Political Science, with an intent to go to Law School or work for a non-profit. By working on this campaign, she hopes to make it easier for young people in her community to have a voice on political issues

Co-General Assembly Coordinator: Nikhil Naik

Nikhil is a senior at Morris Hills High School.  He is interested in Politics and Youth Activism. He has served as the Mid Atlantic Regional Director for the Young Democrats of America as well as the District 12 Director for a Campaign for a Presidential Youth Council. At a more local level Nikhil is serves in leadership roles at his schools JSA and Student Government chapters. He also co-founded a charity that has donated thousands of clothing to impoverished children in India.

Kevin is a junior at The Lawrenceville School. Working to promote greater youth political participation, he hopes that the CNJGYC will result in a better representation of the younger population’s interests in legislation.  Interested in public service, with a focus on constituent services, Kevin has interned for Senator Patrick Toomey (R-PA) for the past two years. In addition to his work at the federal level, Kevin is the president of Young Republicans and co-president of the Speech and Debate team at his high school.

Andrew is a sophomore at St. Paul’s School in New Hampshire. He has been active in politics for the last couple of years including being a campaign staffer during the 2016 elections. He is passionate about youth political participation and getting youth voices heard. When he is not busy with school or political work, he can be found debating or swimming.

Co-General Assembly Coordinator: Margaret Evered 

Margaret is a senior at Princeton High School where she serves as Student Body President, having been class president for the past two years. She is heavily involved in the Junior State of America, the largest student run non-profit organization in the United States, where she currently serves as the Lieutenant Governor Chief of Staff. Margaret is dedicated to fighting apathy and ensuring civil discourse amongst high school students and is excited to be a part of a campaign to increase youth involvement at a state level

Recruitment Coordinator: Leticia Wood

Leticia, a senior at the Academies@Englewood, wants to destroy youth political apathy to ensure a beneficial future for all people. She is the Vice President of her school’s chapter of the Junior State of America, a club dedicated to promoting youth involvement in politics. She is the managing editor of her school newspaper and works on two separate student publications. Outside of school, she is the New Jersey State Director for both the National Association of Youth Leaders, where she serves on the Board of Directors, and the Next Generation Politics.

Himaja is a rising junior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South. As an active member of her community and school, she is the President of the Future Problem Solving club, vice chair for the Mercer County High School Democrats and a member of her school’s Model United Nations club. She hopes to prove that our generation’s youth have the ability to become a vital part of our government!

Manish is a junior at West Windsor-Plainsboro High School South. In his free time, he coaches his brother’s recreational basketball team and is a sprinter on varsity track. Currently serving as the treasurer for his school’s debate club as well as having won multiple awards at Princeton Moot Court, Manish sees debate is a big part of his life. He hopes to increase political participation in his generation through this campaign.
